Summer 2010 Hair Regime and Products

I just wanted to post my hair regime as it stands, I've been playing products and techniques and finally I think I got something that works for me & my hair. For me, daily styling has to be quick, easy and effective also because I'm in full time education, it needs to be cheap. Check out my fav products below;

1. Alberto V05® Herbal Escape Clarifying Conditioner Kiwi Lime Squeeze
I co-wash my hair every 2-3 days with this conditioner in between shampoos. It's a pretty light conditioner with no build up which means I can afford to shampoo less which I love. Price=£1.30 for 443ml.

2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil aka EVOO
Olive oil is great for hair growth, preventing hair loss and dandruff. I apply a little everytime I co-wash so every 2-3 days. Since I've been using EVOO my hair definitely feels stronger and what I've also noticed is that my hair absorbs very quickly. Price=£1+ for 500ml.

3. Skala® Shea Butter Leave In Styling Cream
I use this product for daily styling; curl definition and for moisturising. I'm very conscience of the ingredients in my products, so I like to buy products that don't include parabens, silicones, mineral oil or petrolatum. I used to curl activators for defination and moisturising but they don't work on my hair as well as Skala's Leave-In. Price=£1.99 for 300ml.

4. Eco Styler Firm Hold Styling Gel
This gel is great for frizz control and curl definition. It has great hold which last a number of days with out being hard. I use it after I apply the Leave-In conditioner. Eco Styler gels are great they are not sticky, gummy and don't leave any flakes. Plus you can get the biggest tubs of gel for the lowest prices. Price=£2.50 for 907g.

5. Water + Glycerin Spray Mixture
Glycerin is a humectant, it draws moisture from the air. I use a mixture of 5:1 (water:glycerin) in spray bottle. I use it at night before I wrap my hair to go to bed and also after styling my hair. Some people used distilled water but tap is fine. Price=£1.99 for 250ml of glycerin.

6. TRESemmé Colour Vitalising Shampoo
It's not a sulfate free shampoo, however it's specialised for coloured hair meaning it doesn't dry my hair out and moisturised. I shampoo every month or whenever I feel my hair needs a thorough cleaning usually due to build up. Price=£3.90-4.95 for 900ml.

7. Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner
I deep condition every 2 week with Organic Root Stimulator's conditioner. I apply the conditioner and leave it in for about an hour with a plastic cap (or bag when a cap is not available). This conditioner leaves my hair soft and my scalp and hair fresh. It works well with baking soda for clarifying however you have to make sure you wash it out thoroughly. Price=£3.49 for 370ml.
