Do It Yourself Beauty: Hot Oil Treatment

Is your hair damaged or feeling rather dry lately? Do you need an easy and quick hair revival solution? (Don't know why I'm writing like a commercial/advert.) Something I would totally advise you to do is a hot oil treatment, it 's very easy to prepare and make yourself plus it can bring back the bounce in your curl and the moisture to your strands.

I usually do a hot-oil treatment before I shampoo my hair with a mild shampoo. I follow this up with a deep condition and the result always fantastic, bye-bye dry hair!

One of my favourite things about making my own hot oil treatment is that you can use any of your favourite oils; olive oil, almond oil, canola oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, whatever floats your boat!

    What you will need:
  • a microwavable bowl
  • an applicator bottle
  • your chosen oils
  • plastic cap/bag
  • a microwave

  1. Mix a few tablespoon of your choosen oils in a microwavable bowl. For example 3 tablespoons of olive oil and 3 tablespoon of coconut oil.

  2. Stir the oils together and place mixture in the microwave for about 20 seconds or until it's hot.

  3. Let the mixture, settle once you take out the microwave so it is not too hot.

  4. Pour your mixture into an applicator bottle, this make application less messy.

  5. Evenly section the hair and apply the hot oil treatment to each segment of hair.

  6. Once the hot oil is applied the hair, place a plastic cap or bag over it.

  7. Leave the hot oil on for 15-30 minutes then rinse or wash with a mild shampoo.

It's that simply!
