DIY Beauty: Egg Conditioner for Shiny, Soft Hair

Ran out of your store bought deep conditioner? No problem! Your kitchen may contain all the ingredient to do it yourself.

I'm not going to lie I was bit anxious with trying this recipe as an egg recipe could be a potentially smelly one but amazingly it wasn't a gross mixture at all; smellwise and lookwise it was quite acceptable! After I applied the Egg Conditioner my hair felt lovely and soft but yet stronger. I would say this Egg Conditioner is a great alternative to a store bought protein conditioner.

What you will need:
1 egg yolk
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
3/4 cup lukewarm water

Why egg yolk and olive oil?
Egg yolks are naturally rich in vitamin A, D, E and several vitamins of B-group. All of them are good for hair: vitamins A, D and E are especially useful to treat hair loss, besides, vitamin A increases sebum production which oils dry hair and prevents dandruff and thick scalp, Vitamin D provides hair growth, and vitamin E increases oxygen absorption. Another significant part of egg yolk is fatty acids which make hair shiny and manageable. In addition, fatty acids were proven to fight dandruff, hair loss, psoriasis and flaky scalp, because they improve the skin structure. Olive oil helps reduce the buildup from largely synthetic hair care products and environmental contaminants that leave your hair feeling brittle and dull. Olive olive oil is an excellent condtioner and moisturiser.

Instructions:
1. Beat egg yolk until it becomes a lighter yellow colour.
2. Add olive oil and continue beating.
3. Add water to the mixture and beat. (Make sure it's only lukewarm otherwise you'll cook the egg!)
4. After shampooing hair, massage conditioner into hair. Leave the conditioner in for a couple minutes then rinse thoroughly.

Sorry, I don't have any before and after photos but I will update with you when I do!
