DIY Beauty: Tropical Avocado, Banana and Coconut Milk Hair Smoothie

Ran out of your store bought deep conditioner? No problem! Your kitchen may contain all the ingredients to do it yourself.

This deep conditioner smells absolutely gorgeous and looks somewhat like baby food. But honestly this conditioner is a heavenly hair treat

Why avocado and banana?
Avocados contain more than 25 essential nutrients and vitamins, such as Vitamin E and B-vitamins. In Latin America, the pulp of the avocado is used to help stimulate hair growth by applying it to the scalp. Avocado can be used can strengthen and fortify and because they are rich in fatty acids they are brilliant for transforming dry brittle hair into soft, shiny hair.

"Banana is rich in potassium, natural oils, carbohydrates and vitamins that helps in softening the hair and protects the hair's natural elasticity preventing split ends and breakage. Bananas when used for hair has a number of benefits such as it creates manageability, shine, growth and controls dandruff." Source

The benefits of using coconut milk can be found in another post I've done, here.

2. Then either mash or blend the pulp and put in a mixing bowl.

3. Add to that mashed or blended banana and mix.

4. Pour in the coconut milk or creme until it produces thick creamy consistency (like a thick deep conditioner).

5. Finish the mixture by adding 2 tablespoon of olive oil.

6. Apply liberally to the hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes then rinse thoroughly with water.
