DIY Beauty: Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

No more shampoo at home and in need of some clean, full bodied hair. No problem, your kitchen may contain all you need to do it yourself!

Thank you for Kiianah at Rockin’ It Naptural for sharing this recipe: I tried it out, my scalp/hair felt totally clarified and it was so simple and easy to do! And surprisingly your hair doesn’t  smell after you do the rinse either.

Why Apple Cider Vinegar?

“…Rinsing the hair with ACV will benefit the hair in so many ways and can be mixed simply with water or with various herbs and essential oils for extra conditioning, healing or growth properties… Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is full of nutrients that are beneficial for the hair such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, sulfur, copper, iron, silicon and fluorine. It also helps to balance the natural pH of your scalp and hair. Some have seen significant changes to the hair such as more body, thicker hair and the prevention of dandruff when using ACV on the hair.” (Source)

What you will need:

3-5 cups warm, filtered or distilled water
3-5 tablespoons ACV

Mixed the ingredient together and pour the mixture over your hair. Let it sit and penetrate into your hair for at least a minute and then rinse. You may leave some of the ACV in your hair if you want to.

This is just a simple Apple Cider Rinse but if you would like to see more ACV recipes check out this page.
Have you tried an ACV rinse? What were the result? If you haven’t tried it, are you considering trying an ACV rinse?
