DIY BEAUTY: Avocado & Yoghurt Deep Conditioner

I love using avocados for homemade beauty recipes especially deep conditioners because they are absolutely great for hydrating dry hair (and skin) which is a common problem I regularly face with my kinky, curly natural hair. Additionally avocados are rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fats which makes it a nutritional treat for your hair. AND they smell and feel a lot better on your hair then eggs do but still produce shiny and defined hair as a result.

The following recipe I got from Around The Way Curl which is a great blog about natural hair, styling and general chit chat, so check that out.... And also let me know what  you think about this recipe - will you be trying it? Have you tried it? If so what did you think? Drop me a comment.

You will need
One Avocado
2-3 Tablespoons of Plain Yoghurt
1 Tablespoon of Honey or Vegetable Glycerin
1 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice or the Juice of  1/2 a Lemon
A processing cap or plastic bag
Peel the avocado and scoop out the flesh. (I advise you mash the flesh into a paste if you do not own a blender or hand mixer). Add in the yoghurt, honey/gylcerin and lemon juice. Blend or mix together to get a somewhat smooth consistency  - like guacomole.

Distribute evenly on the hair, cover with plastic cap and leave on for at least 20 min. Wash out thoroughly.
